When Jamaica take the field against Bermuda today in Concacaf World Cup Qualifying at the National Stadium, Reggae Boyz head coach Steve McClaren will be looking for clinical performances from his attackers.

The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m.

Also in Group B action, leaders Curacao will host Trinidad at the Ergilio Hato Stadium, with match time set for 6 p.m. In their earlier meeting, the two teams played out a scoreless draw.

Jamaica will face Bermuda in their fourth match in Group B, hoping for a return to winning ways.

The team lost to Curacao 2-0 in their last outing on Friday and fell to second place in the group standings on six points, one fewer than the Dutch-speaking nation.

Trinidad and Tobago were hammering Bermuda 3-0 at the same time on Friday and stayed third in the group, on four points. Bermuda have lost all three matches to date.

There are three group playoffs in Concacaf. Each group winner will advance directly to the World Cup. The two best second place teams will advance to the intercontinental playoffs.

McClaren felt the team could have walked away with a positive result on Friday and bemoaned the lack of goals despite creating chances.

He said this has been a problem that has haunted the team and he is searching for the striker who can lead the lines.

"Since we lost Michail Antonio we've been searching for a number nine and a goalscorer," he said.

"I go back to a year when we played Cuba in my first game, I think 28 shots and about 16 on target, and we came away with zero goals. I think that's always been a little bit of a problem: converting the chances."

McClaren said the absence of Leon Bailey, Demarai Gray, and Warner Brown has been a major blow to the team's attack. He has turned to the likes of Bailey Cadamarteri, Rumarn Burrell, Renaldo Cephas, Kaheim Dixon, and Tyreece Campbell to supply the goals.

"We need to be more clinical and find that number nine who can consistently score from nowhere," he explained.

"We've tried some players who have done well. Unfortunately, Warner Brown has been injured, and Cadamarteri has come in and done a great job and scored as well as Rumarn Burrell.

"We also expect the wingers, the likes of Cephas and Dixon and Tyreece Campbell, Leon Bailey and Demarai Gray, we expect them to score as well," he said.

BOUNCE BACK

McClaren said the team would need to bounce back from their previous defeat and would be looking to claim all three points against Bermuda.

In their earlier meeting, Jamaica defeated Bermuda 4-0 in a dominant display.

McClaren will be looking for a similar performance from his players this time around.

"We know a little bit more about Bermuda after playing them. That's a tricky game. It's always going to be difficult, but we need to win," he said.

"We need to do the same, and like we were in the first game [against Bermuda], we scored first and we were clinical with our chances."
