Decomposed bodies of two senior citizens found in St Ann

December 10, 2025

Two rural communities in St Ann have been left in shock after the bodies of two senior citizens were found in advanced stages of decomposition yesterday.

Dead are seventy five year old farmer Arthur Bennett of Caledonia District in Watt Town St Ann and seventy two year old retiree Winsome Chang Gordon of Madras District in Watt St Ann.

Reports are that about 8:10 a.m. on December 9 2025 the decomposing body of Chang Gordon was found at her home. Bennett was discovered about 10 a.m. at his home in the neighbouring community.

The scenes were processed and the bodies removed for post mortem examinations.

Founder and executive chairperson of the Caribbean Community for Retired Persons Jeane Lowrie Chin said news like this is always heartbreaking especially when elderly people are found in late stages of decomposition. She stressed that there is hope the two seniors were not victims of neglect or violence as older persons often require direct physical care.

The Browns Town Criminal Investigation Branch is probing both matters.
